In 2011, I retired after twenty-nine years of teaching. A few months ago I stumbled upon a couple of tablescaping blogs which led me to even more tablescaping blogs. The more I drooled over these lovely photographs, the more I decided that I could do this also. Tablescaping seemed the perfect hobby for me to combine my love of dishes, antiques, and collectibles with my need for a creative outlet for my retirement. I began tablescaping in October of 2011 using mainly what I had and only purchased a few inexpensive items from Wal Mart, Dollar General, and Fred’s (yes, I am also cheap). Later I added items from antique malls, flea markets, and yard sales. I am always on the lookout for great things to be used in tablescapes. My husband is manager of an office supply store. We have one handsome son who is in camping ministry and his beautiful wife is a teacher. The following picture is David, me, Russell, and Callie in front of their house at Camp Lake Stephens.
I also love to read, especially Christian fiction. I am a ten-year colon cancer suvivor. My husband and I love the outdoors and like to fish, hike, and camp, although now that we are older, we prefer camping in cabins. Thanks for reading my blog.
