I won’t do any confessions again since I covered that earlier. Suffice it to say that I love the Summer Fun tablescape so much that I did the kitchen table with it today. On the weekends, I like to move some of the dining table elements to the kitchen for our weekend meals, especially if I don’t have a tablescape in the kitchen already.
To quickly refresh your memory, I based the summer fun dining table on the end-of-summer sale items that I purchased at Dollar General. I especially loved the colorful party lights, and I got to thinking that those might have a lot of different uses in the future and that I might regret not purchasing more than one strand. Therefore, I returned to Dollar General the next day. I was so glad that I did because there were only two strands left, so I grabbed them. I also purchased another tea light holder and some shells.
Today I started with my aquamarine placemats.
I added the polka dot outdoor dinnerware. I put the aquamarine napkin between the two plates. Remember that last week I had used the hot pink napkin. One of the things that I love about the color and pattern of these dishes is that it can take several different accent colors and still look great.
I used the hot pink flatware again. I really liked the way the color pops against the aqua.
Of course, I used the matching tumblers.
You probably remember that my kitchen table is small and I like to do a vignette on one end rather than a centerpiece. I added an additional beach chair tealight holder. I liked the way that the two chairs look together, like they are ready for some tired beachgoers to plop down with a cool drink!
The vintage Ball Mason jar is the perfect aqua color to go with this tablescape. I filled it with the shells, and I love the final look.
Of course, I had to add a strand of lights down the center of the table.
Doncha love this final look? Yet another Summer Fun table with **shock** plastic dinnerware!
Not too much on my Bargain Report today. I saved 5 cents on a tank of gas with my Exxon rewards card. Of course, all of the Dollar General purchases were on sale. I purchased Osteo Bi-Flex for buy one, get one free at CVS, plus I had a $10 off coupon. I think that was my best bargain this week!
I also didn’t do a lot of purchases at garage sales and flea markets this week, but I did get just a few things. I got this cute little Snowman wooden basket.
Other holidays covered are Easter [isn't that little rabbit with the glittery headdress cute?] with these two little rabbits and
Valentine’s Day. This little basket is pretty dirty. I haven’t started cleaning it yet, so I’m not sure if it is silver or not. It really doesn’t matter as long as it will shine up well. Won’t that look cute with some red candies in it at Valentine’s Day?
This is probably a vintage ashtray with a Delft blue and white tile in the bottom. I haven’t tried out the metal edge yet; it’s probably brass or silver. I will definitely post when I get it cleaned up and know what it is!
As for our booth at the flea market, sales have picked up a little bit; actually, a very little bit, but it is still so much better that it was! I’ve sold some Anchor Hocking bakeware and some vintage Corningware.
I also sold a rug, and my partner sold a porcelain clown. It’s not much, but it’s better than it was. Thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts sent my way that my business would pick up, and keep them coming!
Have a wonderful week and great tablescaping and bargain hunting!!
